Group Draw
Due to the exceptional circumstances of this year’s EQC D2, the tournament will consist of 23 teams.
For that reason, the initial group phase will be made of 5 groups of 4 teams each, and the last one will be a group of 3 teams.
Group Phase
After the group phase, teams will be ranked according to the tiebreaker criteria and the top 9 teams will be directly slotted in to the Upper Bracket. Tiebreaker criteria: (1) number of games won, (2) number of victories outside of range (VPD was 40 or more when the flag was caught, and it ended the game), (3) average P differential per game (capped at 90), (4) number of flags caught, (5) head to head (only if applicable), (6) average points scored per game, (7) coin toss.
The other 14 teams will play a Play-In round, where the 7 winners will fill out the 7 remaining spots in the Upper Bracket while the other 7 teams will comprise the Lower Bracket, which will create an Upper Bracket made of 16 Teams and a Lower Bracket made of 7 Teams.
On Day 2, the teams will play the bracket games regarding the Bracket where they were placed after the conclusion of Day 1.
