Positions & Its Perks
All general non-playing volunteers will get one lunch voucher, accommodations and t-shirts.

Pitch Manager
As a Pitch Manager you are responsible for your pitch.
Your work will start early on Saturday morning with setting up your pitch and will end late on Sunday night with setting your pitch down. You will be in charge of making sure teams, officials and volunteers are there early enough for the games to start on time.
You will also be responsible for the scoresheets to be signed by the referees and for the equipment on your pitch and to communicate with the committee .
Each pitch will have its own runner.
- Must be non-playing;
- Good communication skills and good English level;
- Will be paid 25€/day.
Time Keeper
As a Time Keeper you will be in need to pay attention to the match and carefully follow the game time, stopping it when needed.
You should coordinate yourself with the referees if they need you to warn them, during the Snitch On Pitch time, for the snitch’s handicaps or any other referees necessities.
You will work closely with the Score Keeper.

- Keeps teams, referees and spectators informed about the game time;
- Keeps an eye on penalty times.
Score Keeper
As a Score Keeper you will be in need to pay attention to the match and fill the scoresheet anytime one of the two teams score, taking care of the scoreboard as well.
You will also be in need to fill the scoresheet anytime the Head Referee gives a card.
You will work closely with the Time Keeper.

- Responsible for the scoreboard and scoresheets.
Goal Judge
As a Goal Judge, you will be in need to pay attention to the match, standing behind the hoops, signalizing the Referees whether the quaffle go through the hoops or not. Here’s how to do it:
- If the quaffle has been clearly put through an hoop you have to throw both your harms into the air;
- To indicate “no goal” you have to repeatedly swing both your arms horizontally wide across your chest. A “no goal” action should be made both if the attempt to score was clearly unsuccesful and after a score if you noticed a beat on the ball carrier;
As a Goal Judge, you will also be responsible for fixing any fallen, dislodged or damaged hoop. You should only repair the hoop after the offensive action has ended, so an offensive play can continue if at least one of the hoops are in play. An Head Referee will stop the game for any hoops that need to be replaced.
Runner
As a Runner you have to deliver information and equipment around the fields. You will be responsible to help out Pitch Managers if they need undamaged equipment or to bring scoresheets to the Organizational Team.
- Must be non-playing;
- Will be responsible for all kinds of stuff during the tournament;
- Will have access to the storage room;
- Will be paid 15€/day.
Steward
As a Steward you will be responsible for taking care of spectators providing general information about the tournament and the sport. You will be assigned to an info point for half a day with another volunteer.
- Must be non-playing;
- Good communication skills;
- Has to be able to speak Italian and English;
- Must have a good knowledge of the sport.
Photographer
As a Photographer you can easily enter the pitches to make pictures of the game or any kind of photo during the events. Quidditch Europe will own the rights of the pictures, but Photographer will of course get the credits. Photographers who wish to apply for a salaried position must send a portfolio through email at d2.volunteers@quidditcheurope.org by the 10th of April 2022 at 23:59. The applied photographers will receive an e-mail from Quidditch Europe where will be declared if their position is salaried or not due to an evaluation of the quality of their portfolio.
- May be playing;
- Should have experience with sports photography;
- Must use their own camera;
- Non-playing photographers will be paid €50/day/pitch (no more than 1 per pitch);
- Salaried photographers have to agree to grant total copyrights of their photos to the organizing bodies.

Officiating at Division 2
A successful tournament can’t take place without qualified referees and snitches – so now is the time to step forward and sign up as a Referee and/or Snitch Runner to help this year’s tournament take place.

Head Referee
The head referee has the authority to enforce the rules and take disciplinary
action from the moment they enter the player area until they leave the player
area after the final whistle. The head referee may stop play at any time to enforce rules or otherwise facilitate safe and fair gameplay.
- Qualified Head Referees will be paid €10 per match
Assistant Referee
The primary focuses of the assistant referees are: calling whether players are subject to the knockout effect; watching plays away from the quaffle; watching for balls and playing going out of bounds.
- Qualified Assistant Referees will be paid €5 per match
Snitch Referee
The primary focuses of the snitch referee are: watching for false starts; watching plays around the snitch runner; ruling whether the snitch is down and counting the 3 seconds head start; enforcing snitch handicaps; inform the snitch runner in case of defending seeker.
- Qualified Snitch Referees will be €5 per match
Snitch Runner
The snitch runner’s job is to protect the snitch from seekers trying to catch it. The snitch runner is an official and may advise the other officials on any call.
- Snitch Runners with Snitch Referee certification will be paid €5 per match
- Snitch Runners without certification will be paid €3 per match.

How to get to Brescia?
Airports
There are three airports close to Brescia: Milano Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY), Verona (VRN) and Milano Malpensa (MXP).
Milano Bergamo (BGY)
If you land at Milano Bergamo (BGY) Airport (Orio al Serio), you will have the following options:
- By bus (airport – Brescia):
To reach Brescia, you can get the bus (timetable) which will take you to SIA station - By train (airport – Bergamo – Brescia)*:
You can take the train to Bergamo and than change to reach Brescia (tickets & info: here or here)
Verona (VRN)
If you land at Verona (VRN), this is your best option:
- First, take the bus from the airport to Verona Porta Nuova railway station (info)
- From there, take the train* to Brescia (tickets & info: here or here)
Milano Malpensa (MXP)
If you land at Milano Malpensa (MXP), you can:
- Either take the bus or train to Milano Centrale railway station
- From there, take the train* to Brescia (tickets & info: here or here)
Bus
Long distance international buses (Eurolines, Flixbus, …) travel frequently to Milan, from which you can use other modes of transport to get to Brescia. See more info above.
*Planned Train Strike
Due to a planned strike involving Trenitalia, some trains could be cancelled or rescheduled on the weekend of EQC D2. Be careful when planning your arrival to / departure from Brescia.
All trains between 6AM and 9AM, and between 6PM and 9PM will not be affected. Every other ride is not guaranteed. Please check if the rides you intend to use are included in the strike before committing to them.
You can call the free number +39 800 89 20 21 for information or check the website in the days leading up to the event. Unfortunately, there is no English version of the website, so we’re trying to ‘translate’ as well as possible. On the page, you can find 2 PDFs:

If you prefer to play it safe, there are some other options:
- The Italo railways are not involved in the strike. Any train will still be available.
- GoOpti is a service that allows to book a private bus to get wherever you need to go.
- Blablacar allows you to book a ride either by bus or by car-sharing at low prices.
- Flixbus connects most major cities in Europe by bus, with low fares.

Taxi
Check-In Registration
The check-in registration will happen at the venue on Friday 22nd from 17:30 to 20:30 local time. A late check-in was also be possible on Saturday from 8:00 to 8:30 in case some volunteers/officials cannot arrive on Friday in time.
You will be able to pick-up your benefits package.
Referees will be asked to fill in a form for being able to be paid after the event. The information required will be full name, date and place of birth and your Tax ID number (info).
Volunteers & officials between 16 and 18 years old must present the signed “Release of Liability for Minor Participants” document at the check-in.
Social
Could an international quidditch event exist without an awesome social night? Of course not!
On Sunday evening, after the tournament is over, celebration will occur at the Master Hotel (location). Music, food and drink will be there, what are you waiting for?
The cost of the social night, including a buffet dinner in full “apericena” style and drinks is €16.
